CarverMusik was established in 2013.

We specialize in musical analysis, infringement risk assessment and mitigation, worldwide music copyright and public domain research, music rights and chain of title research, historical and genre music consulting, locating hard-to-find heirs and rights owners of compositions and recordings, and the preparation of formal musicology reports.

CarverMusik's founder, Dr. Denise Carver, is a highly qualified musicologist with substantial experience in the entertainment business. She holds a Ph.D. in music composition, and is a licensed California entertainment attorney and a former Vice President of Music at Hollywood-based motion picture studio Paramount Pictures.

​Dr. Carver has taught music theory and composition at the University of California, Santa Barbara; mentored at the Billboard/Hollywood Reporter Film & TV Music Conference; appeared as guest presenter at the Guild of Music Supervisors Conference, the Hollywood SyncSummit, the International Congress on Women in Music, and the UC Symposium on Arts and Humanities Ph.D.’s; studied International Law at the Salzburg Institute in Austria; participated in master classes at the Cheltenham Festival of Music in England; and adjudicated the California Teachers Music Composition Competition.

Professional memberships include NARAS (Grammys/The Recording Academy), the BMI performing rights society, the California Bar Association, Mu Phi Epsilon International Music Fraternity, and the American Musicological Society.
